Ervin Santana’s had a fantastic start to his season for the Twins, but today he had to face a Boston lineup that’s getting hot, and their hottest hitter got to him.
After a Dustin Pedroia home run in the first, his second of the year, the rookie Andrew Benintendi came up to the plate with a man on.
That’s when this happened.
That pitch was utterly demolished, giving the Sox an early 3-0 lead.
It was Benintendi’s fifth home run of the season. In a season where the Red Sox offense has been streaky so far, Benintendi has shined.
He’s already batting in the cleanup slot and if he keeps hitting like this he won’t be moving any time soon.
